Camped over memorial weekend at the tent site #13. Absolutely wonderful, mostly shaded and quiet. Close to the bathhouse if needed.
Family members stayed in the equine area and the RV area and both were wonderful.
Trails are nice, splash pad was a hit and the playground.
We needed an overnight stop on our trip from Texas to NC and this park was the perfect spot! It is not far off I-20 and quiet and beautiful. We are in a 40 foot super c towing a Jeep gladiator and had no issues getting in and out with all paved parking roads and long mostly level pull-through sites with full hook ups. The office staff was great making our reservation that day with late check in. It is gated and very quiet and safe. The normal rate is $50 but is 40 for us with a senior discount. We plan to return when we can spend some time at the park and this will be a regular stopover for us in the future as we make this trip often.
Loved it was our first time camping here and we will be back
Fun little park, close to home. The paved walking loop is beautiful. (Lots of mosquitos but If you live in Georgia you know it’s the nature of the beast..) you can venture off and take a big foot trail or walk the unpaved back loop around the big lake, (Behind the tent campsites). Bring a swimsuit for the kids there is a well maintained splash pad, park, restrooms, and picnic tables. Make sure you pay the 5$ to park or even better buy a year long pass for 40$ at the office.
AMAZING PLACE TO CAMP! Whether you're in a tent, fifth wheel, camper or RV. There is also an equestrian side I haven't venture into.
The are a lot of paved trails, 2 ponds and the Tallapoosa River is on the back side of the Park. There is a cool splash pad for the kids. Dogs are welcome.
There are water and sewer hook ups at each RV/CAMPER sites.
And there is a bath house available
Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
This park is awesome 👌 lots of great trails for easy hiking.we went in very early April, and the mosquitoes were already an issue near the river, so I would be prepared with some form of repellent. Our family would love try camping here!
Great place for RV campers. We had a nice full hook up site that was fairly level. The campground was well kept and quiet. There are lots of trails for hikers or bicycles. They have a small water park area for the kids and although we did not use the bath house, I checked it out and it was very nice and clean. They have laundry facilities as well.
Update July 2020 - they now use the old "horse" sites for overflow when the regular campground is full. We had site #10 in that area. We don't prefer it at all. The grass was really long, and the site was not near level. The road noise from the nearby highway was very loud. Additionally, there are trees on the awning side that could interfere with using it. The picnic table/firepit area was not very user friendly. Going back tomorrow but not to the overflow area.
We loved staying here. The bath houses were very clean and well kept.
